After a long break from blogging, it feels good to be back.Last week was the beginning of the second trimester in AEP class. To have a warm welcome back,my fellow classmates and I did something a little different than our regular AEP class activities. Our teacher, Miss Disa thought of a very creative way on how we could improve our essay writing skills. She said in order to write a great essay, we need to think of our essay as a friend, and not an enemy. She had us think of our essay as something we loved and sketch it on paper, which I thought was a really interesting way to improve our writing skills. On the second day of AEP class, we began our lesson with a short vocabulary test on words like squalid (extremely dirty or unpleasant) and abhor (regard with disgust or hatred). We have a vocabulary test every week to improve our way of speech and writing. We then answered questions from our book, learned about concession words and where they are used in writing. We concession words for contrasts in which something unexpected is stated;some examples are ‘although’ , ‘alternatively’ , and ‘on the other hand…..’ Miss Disa gave us a link on more examples of these type of words, and I will place the link below for those of you who might need it.
Well that’s all for this week’s blog. Thank you for reading, and catch you soon!
